Big WiscKids Pub Crawl
Updated: Jan 30, 2020
This past weekend was homecoming for our oldest. He’s a junior and a football player at LaFollette H.S. Our 2019 Lancers are having a great year. Currently we are 5-2! It’s the best record us junior parents have ever experienced.
The coolest aspect of this years homecoming is that our kids can now drive! That means we can go out to celebrate our boys successes not having to worry about picking them up! AKA PUB CRAWL! (courtesy of Uber of course)!
This year’s pub crawl was on Atwood Ave! We started our night at the new Garver Feed Mill. The Ian’s Pizza location is gorgeous and where we shot this year’s photos. Due to the unseasonably cold temperature the Garver Feed Mill was full of decked out teenagers and parents taking advantage of the lighting and backdrop of this unique venue.
From there we enjoyed some beers at One Barrel Brewing. The seasonal Cherry Kolsch was a favorite among us moms and the lowest a.b.v.
We tried to get dinner at both the Alchemy and Tex Tubb's but after a 2:30pm Badger game, a group of 12 for dinner at either location wasn’t an option.
So instead we opted for bar games at Player's Sports Bar. I can’t remember a night we’ve been on Atwood where a quick stop for ping pong and pool at Player's hasn’t happened.
Of course the next stop is The Atwood (the old Mr. Roberts) who surprisingly didn’t have live music but as always has a fun mix of locals.
The Harmony Bar was closed for unknown reasons so we wandered further east and ended our night dancing to karaoke at The Ohio Tavern. A first for this long time Madisonian! I want to thank the brave souls who sang their hearts out! At the same time I have to apologize for our groups terrible off tune singing and bad dancing.
It was a super fun night for us old bar veterans but we had a great time and everyone is still texting pictures days later. Thanks Atwood!
